As a company, we are confroted not only with the consequences of global supply bottlenecks and tax policy, but also with an ever-increasing bureaucratic burden in the wholesale and foreign trade of chemicals.
That is why engaging in dialogue with politicians is so important and we were delighted to welcome Sebastian Hartmann, member of the German parliament, to Siegburg this week.
We had an open discussion about the economic situation in wholesale and foreign trade, the shortage of raw materials and the opportunities for reducing bureaucracy.
“As a company, it is also our responsibility to provide politicians with the information they need to make practical decisions,” says Gerhard Meinel, Managing Director of VMP Chemiekontor.
We see open and comprehensible discussions as a transparent transfer of knowledge: politicians gain a realistic insight into the everyday life of companies, while companies gain a better understanding of the political framework conditions. Sebastian Hartmann comments: “Looking at everyday business operations helps us to make adjustments that lead to good, practical solutions.”
