Three successful days at the trade show are behind the VMP team. At Vitafoods Europe 2026 in Barcelona, VMP once again showcased its expertise as a trusted partner for innovative ingredients and took advantage of the international event to engage in numerous discussions with customers, suppliers, and industry partners.
Particular attention was drawn to MAPALGON, the natural DHA-rich algae powder for pet food applications. The innovative ingredient quickly became one of the highlights of VMP’s exhibition presence and received consistently positive feedback from visitors across both the food and pet food sectors.
Vitafoods also provided excellent opportunities for networking, presenting new ingredients, and exchanging insights on current market trends and developments within the nutrition industry.
“Vitafoods confirmed that the demand for sustainable omega-3 sources continues to grow. MAPALGON attracted significant interest due to its high DHA content, its natural origin from microalgae, and its versatility in modern pet food formulations. Many discussions focused on formulation challenges, technological integration, and the added value that functional ingredients can provide in terms of animal health and product differentiation,” explains Alice Kaiser, Application Engineer & Sales Manager for the business units Nutrition and Pet Care.
With many new contacts and valuable insights, VMP looks back on a highly successful appearance in Barcelona. At the same time, it became apparent that customer attendance from the DACH region at international trade fairs outside Germany remains somewhat limited. While we are very pleased with the quality of the discussions held during the event, it will only become clear over the coming months which concrete projects, partnerships, and business opportunities will emerge from the many new contacts established at the show.
