VMP Chemiekontor takes over Quaan GmbH

VMP Chemiekontor is taking over chemicals company Quaan at the beginning of the new year. The Hamburg-based owner-managed commercial business was founded in 2009 and focuses on the area of CASE (coatings, adhesives, sealants, elastomers).

With the acquisition of Quaan the family business VMP Chemiekontor, whose headquarters are in Siegburg, Germany, is continuing its consistent expansion strategy.  The extension of the product portfolio associated with the purchase permits the group of companies to focus on and increase its strength in the CASE market segment with a fourth location in Hamburg, which has now been added to its other sites in Siegburg, Hong Kong and Zurich.

VMP CEO Gerhard Meinel says: "I would like to welcome the staff of Quaan GmbH to the VMP group of companies. Their portfolio and resources make them precisely the right partners at the right time to allow the company to continue to grow."

Harry Reimers, previously Quaan GmbH's sole shareholder and CEO, will stay on in an advisory capacity and says: "I am delighted that with VMP, I have found a buyer whose values and strategy match Quaan's perfectly. That was very important to me, and I am certain that the takeover will lead to a win–win situation for both companies."
